Color Song for Kids: The Color Song Is Coming Soon

The Color Song: a sneak peek with Lumi, Mimi, Tuki, Nina, Ray, BoboComing soon

One morning the Learning Garden wakes up pale, as if nobody coloured it in. Lumi, Tuki and Nina need a helper to find every missing colour, one song at a time, until a big rainbow shines over LumiLand.

This is the episode where…

  • the whole Learning Garden has lost its colours, and Lumi asks your little one to help find them
  • Bobo proudly holds up a yellow banana and calls it blue
  • Nina lights five little yellow stars, one at a time
  • an orange rolls down a hill and Bobo says hello to it, thinking it's a ball
  • Ray stacks four purple blocks until the tower wobbles and tumbles
  • Nina swirls every colour into one big rainbow over LumiLand

Starring: Lumi · Mimi · Tuki · Nina · Ray · Bobo

The Color Song is the next LumiLand episode, and it's coming soon. It teaches toddlers and preschoolers seven colours (red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple and pink), each with its own move to copy. It's a sing-along colour adventure for toddlers and preschoolers, with Lumi leading the way and Mimi, Tuki, Nina, Ray and Bobo joining in.

The story

When the friends wake up, the Learning Garden is pale and washed out. Something is missing: the colours! Tuki can only say "Missing! Missing!", so Lumi asks your child to help. Each colour comes back with its own short song. A red balloon floats by, the sky turns blue, the sun rises yellow, and the grass turns green, until the whole garden is bright again.

There are plenty of giggles along the way. Bobo is sure his yellow banana is blue. He also says hello to an orange he thinks is a ball, and he spins so much he gets dizzy. Ray's purple block tower wobbles and falls, and everyone laughs and tries again.

Colours you can move to

Every colour has its own move, and the friends sing the move as they do it. On "Red means clap", everyone claps. Blue means wave, yellow means jump, green means hop like a frog, orange means turn around, purple means sway and pink means pop the bubbles. Moving with a word gives little ones one more way to remember it, and it's a lot of fun on a rainy afternoon.

Near the end there's a colour review, a guessing game with short pauses so your child can answer, and a calm goodbye under Nina's rainbow.

Get ready before the premiere

Warm-up games to play together this week, no screen needed.

One-colour hunt

Pick one colour, like red, and walk around your home together to find three red things. Say the colour each time you find one.

Colour moves

Give two colours a move: clap for red, wave for blue. Call out a colour and do the move together. Add yellow (jump!) when that feels easy.

Snack-time colours

At snack or mealtime, name the colour of each food before it's eaten: a green pea, an orange slice, a red strawberry.
